Alexander ‘Xander’ Davidson is a Level 3 certified personal trainer in Airdrie, specialising in body confidence, weight loss, strength and conditioning, and muscle tone development. Based at PureGym Coatbridge, he helps people across North Lanarkshire — including Coatbridge, Motherwell and Bellshill — get past the mental hurdle of walking into a gym for the first time.

Fitness has been his world since he was 16 — back when Instagram was food pics and YouTube was wedding videos set to Chris Brown songs. A lot has changed since. Anyone can post the “next best thing,” but the actual hurdle hasn’t moved: stepping through the gym doors with a plan.

Absolutely — most of Xander’s clients started exactly where you are. The first session is built entirely around your comfort level, and Xander specialises in beating gym anxiety and building confidence from day one. You’ll leave session one knowing what to do, where to go, and how to come back next week without the dread.
How do sessions actually work?
Sessions run at PureGym Coatbridge and are fully tailored to your goals. You and Xander agree a schedule that fits your life, and every programme is built around your specific body, experience and what you actually want to achieve. You’re not handed a template — you’re coached through each session, and the plan adjusts as you progress.
What if I haven’t trained in years?

Xander is a Level 3 certified Personal Trainer, a qualified Strength & Conditioning Trainer, a certified Spin Instructor and holds First Aid qualifications — all current and verified. He’s also fully insured and trains out of PureGym Coatbridge as an approved PT.
